Cycle #9

Today is CD2 of cycle #9. ugh. I don’t understand why I can’t get pregnant. All of my RE bloodwork came back normal. DH has a SA scheduled for next Tuesday, but no one thinks that he’s the problem since he already has 2 kids. I’m tired of trying to make all the healthy decisions for no good reason. Nothing has worked so far.

I started yoga half way through last cycle, so this will be the first complete cycle with yoga. I also have a follow-up appointment with the RE toward the end of this cycle. I’m running out of ideas

RE appointment

This morning I had my first appointment with my RE. It was pretty much as I expected: we’re doing bloodwork now to see if there’s anything wrong hormonally, and then we’ll wait until we’ve been trying 12-14 months before scheduling an HSG and moving forward. They also want to do a SA on my husband sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. Right now I’m mostly concerned about my thyroid levels and possible pre-diabetes, and the doctor agreed that they were the primary issues to test for today.

I felt really well prepared for this appointment. I brought my charts and felt well educated about the issues and procedures. They said it’s only about 2-3 times a year that someone will come in to the first appointment with charts! They made copies of my charts and a past ultrasound for their files.

The clinic is in a teaching hospital, so I had a resident and attending physician. I felt like the resident really listened to me and understood and respected what I already knew about myself. He also gave me one of the gentlest paps I’ve ever had. I wasn’t so impressed with the attending physician who came in at the end and didn’t seem to want to have a conversation. His message was that I needed to try for 12 months before more aggressive procedures, and he can’t do anything to get me pregnant right away. I already understood that going in to the appointment.

But I’m crossing my fingers for this month! I’m 7dpo and plan to start testing on Friday! Friday is also the beginning of a 5 day weekend for me!
